Setting up screen doors on six lines of Yellow Line Metro stations. DMRC keeping in mind the safety of the passengers, is going to set up screen doors on six lines of Yellow Line stations. Four of these stations have been installed on screen, while work is being done at Rajiv Chowk and Kashmere Gate. At present, the convenience of the screen door is at the Metro stations of the Airport Express Line.

According to Metro sources, firstly, screen doors will be started at Chawdi Bazar and Chandni Chowk Metro station. It is likely to be launched by October next month. At the same time, by March 2018, the screen door will start working on all six Metro stations.

DMRC is working fast with this. Of the 62 trains running on this line, around 32 software has been put in place. The work of putting the software in other metro trains is in progress.
After putting the software on the train, it will be connected to the screen door sensor on the metro stations. Trial will be done for this. This trial will happen after the closure of the Metro service at night. After the service runs fine in the trial, it will be fully started for the whole day.

With the safety of the passengers, income from advertising will be the main reason for screen locking is the safety of the passengers. No passengers will fall on the track if it is crowded. At the same time, there will be no suicide incidents. On the other hand, this will increase the earnings of the DMRC also. On each platform there will be approximately 64 display panels in the screen door. These will run ads throughout the day.

A senior DMRC official told that these metro stations were selected, that on an average, around 28 lakh people travel daily in Delhi Metro. Of these, nearly 40 per cent of the passenger trains travel by which include Kashmiri Gate, Chavdi Bazar, Chandni Chowk, New Delhi Railway Station, Rajiv Chowk and Central Secretariat Metro Station. Therefore, DMRC has chosen the first six Metro stations to screen the door to facilitate the people.

A senior official of the Metro Dome in all the Metro stations of the third phase told that the screen doors were set at each and every Metro station in the Pink and Magenta line in the third phase. Shortly after the operation started on both these lines, without the help of the driver, the Metro software will run. Therefore it is mandatory to screen the screen at these metro stations.
